To See the Face of Christmas in Saints of Rome: The John Carroll Society Study Week in Rome 10 - 17 February 2007, with Rev. Msgr. Peter J. Vaghi, Chaplain of the John Carroll Society and under the leadership of Mr. David P. Durbin, President of the John Carroll Society.

Program Description
The saints of Rome are extraordinary, varied and numerous. Our daily schedule will be designed to reflect the progression from the Apostles Peter and Paul to the early witnesses of the faith such as Peter, Paul and Agnes, to the medieval saints (represented by Francesca and Catherine). The Renaissance is represented by intellectuals Phillip Neri and Ignatius Loyola and the unusual Benedict Joseph Labré. Each is associated with a variety of sites in the Eternal City, which we will explore. Our excursion to the monastery of Subiaco will give us an in-depth understanding of Benedict and his twin sister Scholastica.

Activities in Rome will include stimulating presentations and seminars, site visits to numerous churches, the rooms of St. Ignatius, and sung lauds or vespers at several venues, including the lay Community of Sant’ Egidio in the Trastevere district. Holy Mass will be celebrated each day in a hallowed setting selected to advance our search for the Face of Christ in the Saints of Rome.
