The Vincent Pallotti Institute (VPI) 2011-2012 Program INAUGURAL LECTURE
Rev. Felix Körner, S.J. AUTUMN 2011 PROGRAM
Rev. Stephen Rehrauer, C.Ss.R. This five week course will explore the deeper meaning of this essential Christian vision of life and its concrete application to some of today’s most challenging bioethical issues. We will begin by examining how care for one’s own health and the health of others is an essential part of the Christian vocation. We will then survey the basic Christian faith based principles for moral decision making about questions of medical care, and see how these principles can guide us in recognizing and responding to specific moral questions and dilemmas that arise in trying to promote and realize a true Christian reverence for the gift of life. Rev. Stephen Rehrauer, C.Ss.R., is Associate Professor of Moral Theology at the Accademia Alfonsiana in Rome. Dr. Anna Guili is an expert in bioethics who has taught at the Pontifical University of St Thomas Aquinas and the Pontifical Regina Apostolorum Athenaeum in Rome. 25th ANNIVERSARY OASIS IN THE CITY CELEBRATES ALLIANCE WITH C.T.U.

Rev. Stephen Rehrauer, C.Ss.R. Hope is the lynchpin that holds faith and love together, enabling us to experience magnanimity and joy in our lives. Rediscovering authentic Christian hope is the remedy for the pessimism and cynicism that close our our heart to the other. In our time of prayer this year, we will reflect upon the theological virtue of hope. This hope, which St. Paul reminds us never disappoints, is the Christian way of responding to the challenges of life in an imperfect world. This weekend Lenten retreat will include lodging and meals at the retreat house, lectures, time for personal prayer, opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and daily celebrations of the Eucharist and the Liturgy of the Hours. The retreat begins with a welcome at 17:00 on Friday evening and concludes at 14:30, or after lunch, on Sunday. WINTER 2012 PROGRAM

Rev. Míceál O'Neill, O.Carm., Prior of the Collegio Internazionale di Sant' Alberto in Rome, has a background in Latin American spirituality and Carmelite mysticism. SPRING 2012 PROGRAM
